About the Foundation

We publish what other platforms won't say.

The PrideNomad Foundation is a nonprofit that produces free LGBTQ+ location and travel intelligence. No sponsored destinations. No affiliate rankings. No rainbow-washing. Just research.

"Wherever you want to live, however you want to live — we want to give you the resources to find the place in the world that's best suited for you and your heart and your lifestyle. To live a life of freedom and joy. Celebrate who you are on your own terms. Feel safe about it. Feel inspired. Have a community that you thrive in."
Ken Krell, Founder

What we publish

Every guide we produce covers five dimensions that other travel platforms skip: legal rights, personal safety, LGBTQ+ community presence, healthcare access, and cost of living. We name the laws. We cite the sources. We tell you what the data actually says about being visibly queer in a given place — not what the tourism board wants you to hear.

Our newsletter goes to 7,500+ queer adults every Tuesday. Our PrideNomad Index is a living database of destination intelligence built for people who are seriously considering a move, not just browsing.

What we are not

We are not a travel booking site. We are not a gay bar directory. We do not accept payment for favorable coverage of any destination. We do not use phrases like "vibrant LGBTQ community" or "welcoming atmosphere" without data behind them. If a destination has risks, we say so by name and with sources.

Our content is not sponsored and is never for sale. That is what the nonprofit structure exists to protect.

How we research

Legal databasesConstitutional protections, partnership recognition, anti-discrimination law, criminalization status.
Expat community surveysFirst-hand accounts from queer adults who live and work in each destination — not tourists.
On-the-ground reportingLocal LGBTQ+ organizations, community centers, healthcare providers, and housing resources.
Trans-specific safety dataLegal gender recognition, healthcare pathway access, and community safety — reported separately, never buried in general "LGBTQ+" coverage.

Our structure

The PrideNomad Foundation is organized as a nonprofit. Our research is funded by reader support and mission-aligned grants — not by the destinations, hotels, or tourism boards we cover. Editorial decisions are made independently of funding sources.
